Well, I hadn’t quite realized how it’d been since I’ve blogged.  Searching through my email, I discovered comments waiting for approval, and I thought, Jesus, I hope they don’t think I’m rude.  I just have been so absorbed in the face-to-face world, making ends meet… HYPER-FOCUSED.

Life has a strange way of becoming routine without you even knowing it.  The demands of having a home and in general “making it” can certainly take you away from things like blogging, writing, and being creative.  By the time you settle down, all you want to do is check your FB, play some mindless computer games, and drift off to sleep only to get up and (a) go to work (b) take care of errands or (c) do housework.

Being a “grown up” is not like playing house.  Somewhere we forgot to include “responsibilities” like paying bills, washing dishes, cleaning out the garage, washing the dog, vacuuming, making house hold repairs, etc.  Yes, there are tremendous benefits to being an adult but every once in a while you just sit back and swoon in sentimentality.  Then you get up, grab the keys to the car, and take a drive around the corner to get a cold beer, and as you sip the adult beverage of your choice at the place of your choice for as long as you choose to stay there, you remember why being an adult doesn’t quite suck all that bad after all.
